Computer Network
When one or more computers are connected to each other through some medium, then it is called a computer network. One or more computers are interconnected by wire or wireless medium. So that we can easily send data or information from one place to another.
Types of Computer Networks?
There are mainly three types of networks. LAN, MAN, WAN
LAN (Local Area Network) :
The local computer and other hardware/network devices are connected to this network. This network is used to establish short-distance networks. LAN network is used in schools, homes, offices, etc. And this network is managed by any one person or organization.
MAN (Metropolitan Area Network) :
The range of MAN network is more than that of LAN network and less than that of WAN network. MAN network is used to connect big cities. The best example of this network is the cable TV network. High-speed data is transferred from one place to another through this network.
WAN (Wide Area Network) :
This network connects one city to another city or one country to another country. The best example of this network is the internet. The range of this network is the highest.
Uses of Computer Network:
- It allows you to share resources (such as printers, scanners, etc.).
- You can share expensive software and databases among network users.
- It facilitates communication from one computer to another.
- It allows the exchange of data and information between users through a network.
